Common questions we get asked....

How can we find out more?

Thank you for your interest in our work!  Please fill out the info on our contact form and we’ll get back to you with our availability and a quote within 48 hours.

What is your photo style?

Our style of photography is candid or documentary. What does that mean? It means we don’t run around posing everyone, instead we become part of your day, a quiet observer of things. We capture the real, the candid, the natural.

What are your payment terms?

For weddings, we ask for a $500 non-refundable deposit at the time you make your booking to secure your wedding date with us, all other sessions require a $150 non-refundable deposit.  The final payment is due 7 days before your wedding/session.  Payments can be made via bank transfer and we can arrange a payment plan if you’d like to make multiple small payments instead.

Can you give us the RAW files?

We do not supply unedited RAW files as we consider these our unfinished product, and part of what you are paying for when you commission us for your photography is our editing style and ability.  We promise that you will have many edited images and won’t be missing out on any photos if that is what you might be thinking.  We don’t limit the number of photos that we edit and include for you, so they will all be included on your USB or download link.

When is the best time to schedule a photo date?

Most people think a clear sunny day is the perfect light for photos. Generally, it isn’t.

Think… Search light (aka midday sun) VS Candlelight (aka sunrise/sunset) Harsh light causes harsh shadows and generally is very unflattering.

Early morning or late afternoon light tends to be a softer light and casts an even light across your beautiful face. The light at this time is your friend.  If possible, try to avoid harsh midday sun… it is not your friend.

Can we meet you before the wedding?

Yes absolutely, we love meeting our bridal couples before their wedding day so we can get to know them better.  And if you haven’t yet made a decision about your photographer, we’d love to have the opportunity to meet so you can see if we might be the right fit for you.  Please get in contact with us via the contact link above and we can go from there.

Where are you based?

We’re based in the Macarthur region of New South Wales… We service Sydney Metro, Macarthur, Camden, Wollondilly, Wollongong, Southern Highlands, Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Canberra regions and we are more than happy to travel for weddings – just ask us!

When will my wedding photos be ready?

We understand you will want to see your photos as soon as possible after your wedding!  So with this in mind, we provide sneak peek images within 48 hours of your wedding… and the USB of all edited images will be ready within 4-6 weeks of your wedding date.

Do you photograph engagement sessions?

Yes, we offer engagement photo sessions, which include edited images supplied via digital download – please ask us for package details.

Who owns the copyright of the photographs?

Copyright of the photographs remains with the photographer aka Captured By Amanda. You can use the photos on social media, and you can print as many as you need for your personal, non-commercial use.

Use of images for commercial purposes will incur licensing fees. If you receive an inquiry to use the images for commercial purposes, i.e. a venue wants to use one of your wedding photos for their advertising, or blog etc, please refer the inquiry to us so we can assist them.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

We will help you plan suitable alternate locations if needed and will also scout those areas if they are new to us, to ensure we are fully prepared.  We have umbrellas that are suitable for photographs with your bridal party and we will bring these along.  If the rain is really heavy and it prevents us from capturing beautiful photos during your bridal location shoot, we are happy to offer a complimentary reshoot for you to use after your honeymoon.

What happens if we need to postpone due to Covid-19?

We've got you!! As long as your one date is one we are available. We do not charge any rescheduling fees for COVID related postponements. All payments made will be transferred to your new date.
